Summer/Fall Shooting Opportunities: Bird Hunts, Clays, Classes, and More
We have been asked by several of our regulars to update our hunting and sport shooting opportunities at Lazy Triple Creek Ranch remaining this season. Opportunities for shooting, including bird hunting, upland game and sporting clays, are narrowing rapidly. As I always say to those wanting to shoot with us this season, "Please book early." It is no longer early for those who want to shoot with us this season.
Precision Rifle and Handgun Classes
The Precision Rifle class is scheduled for Friday, August 19 or Sunday, August 21 if anyone has a strong preference. We have room for eight with several groups trying to get everyone to agree on a date. Learn more about our rifle range at Lazy Triple Creek Ranch.
The Practical Handgun Skills class will be on Saturday, August 20. We have room for six more. Explore what we offer for pistol shooting, including practical shooting scenarios, on our ranch.
Both classes are $890 for the day. We supply guns and ammunition, snacks during the day, lunch, and cocktails and conversation on the deck at the end of the day. George's guarantee is he will make you a better shooter or your money back. No one ever takes him up on his offer.
Sporting Clays Course Open until August 31
Only two Shotgun Saturdays remain this season, August 6 and 13. Locals enjoy a significant discount on those days, $250 versus the usual $395 plus 6% Idaho sales tax per person shooting. Come shoot trap, skeet, five stand, crazy quail, grouse butt, and the best 14 station sporting clays course in Idaho or anywhere. Add simulated driven shooting with clays high overhead for $150 per person more. Minimum four. We have room for five more on August 6 and ten more on August 13.
Tuesday, August 16 will be sporting clays in the morning, lunch, and simulated driven shooting with clays high overhead after lunch. $545 for the day. We supply loaner shotguns (if needed), all ammunition and clays, a welcome at 9:30 am with coffee, pastries, yogurt, fruit, and a safety briefing. We also provide snacks, lunch, cocktails and conversation on the deck at the end of the day. We have room for four more.
We have openings on only ten other days this season for clays shooting until we change over to upland bird hunting, walkup and driven, on September 1. Maximum eight per day. $395 per person shooting.
Upland Bird Walkup Hunting
Between opening day and the end of October, we can accommodate additional guns on only ten days. My usual message is, "Please book early." The message now for those who want to shoot with us this season is, "Please book now."
We are looking for one to join another bird hunt on Friday, September 2.
We supply loaner shotguns if needed, all ammunition, a guide and well trained dog for every two shooting, snacks, and lunch for groups of four or more. $695 per person shooting.
European Style Driven Shoots with Western Sensibilities
Available pegs are filling rapidly. Here's what is still available:
September 3: 6 pegs available.
October 8: 4 pegs available.
Then sold out until October 22 when five pegs are available.
The shoot on September 3 will be sporting clays and driven bird hunting, no walkups, for $2,100 per person, not the usual $2,900. We are keeping prices unchanged this season, actually unchanged for the past 12 years, in spite of 30% price increases across the board.
Bird hunting in late October and into November will depend on the weather and our supply of game birds. We are holding back enough birds for a late in the season driven shoot. A major publication is featuring Lazy Triple Creek Ranch and we would like to be able to support the business that generates. Book now and we will hold birds for your event. Driven shooting at Lazy Triple Creek Ranch at Thanksgiving would be a wonderful family tradition. Add a stay in our nine bedroom lodge to make it even better. European shooting attire encouraged but not mandatory.
We hope you’ll join us to shoot clays, hunt upland game or take rifle, shotgun, or pistol classes with us in Idaho.
Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay shooting.
