Dedicated to Outdoor Pursuits: Fishing, Shooting, Hunting
This month’s photo reflects the changing of the seasons at Lazy Triple Creek Ranch. Our flyfishing and clays season is coming to an end. Our upland bird hunting season begins. The walkup fields in the distance (and the dogs) are ready for upland bird hunting.
European driven shooting and the traditions that go back to Edwardian times in England inspired six families from Jackson Hole to build a shooting estate in America that would rival anything Europe had to offer without the hassles and expenses of travel. That was 20 years ago.
The combination of the unique topography available at the ranch, the expert guidance of Edward Watson, the West London Shooting School executive director, and well-known game estate manager, and the hard work of our local staff produced something genuinely exceptional. The traditions created then continue to this day.
With over 90% of those who hunted with us last year already rebooked for this season, our small, exclusive hunting estate is very close to being sold out. See below for remaining opportunities to hunt with us in 2024.
Most importantly of all, book early for 2025 if you want to shoot or fish with us next year.
Fall European Style Driven Shooting with Western Sensibilities
The Upland bird hunting season at Lazy Triple Creek Ranch opens August 31 with our signature event, European Style Driven Shooting with Western Sensibilities.
Two drives at each of three locations with a break for Elevenses after the second drive, lunch, afternoon walkups with a guide and well-trained dog, ending with cocktails and conversation on the deck.
Days and pegs are filling up. In fact, most are sold out. Here’s what’s available:
• August 31: Two pegs
• September 7: Five pegs
• October 5: Six pegs
• November 2: Eight pegs (including stays in the Lodge)
If those dates don’t work for you and you have a group of six to eight and you want to experience European-style driven Shooting with Western Sensibilities in America, let us know, and we will try to find dates that work for you.
We can accommodate those wanting to shoot for individual days, but stays in the Lodge for three or four days are already booked except for very few remaining dates. Call 917-821-7210 to confirm.
Walkup Hunts with Guides and Dogs
We have a few days available here and there on the calendar for walk-up hunts with a guide and well-trained dog.
Call 917-821-7210 or email hank@lazytriplecreek.com to book your hunt. Minimum two.
Openings include:
• September 3 to 5
• October 4 to 7
• October 24 to 27 (including stays in the Lodge for up to four)
• October 29 (if the elk haven’t destroyed our cover crops for these last two)
Lodge Expansion
Finally done!
The expansion makes one more bedroom ensuite, gives us much-needed space in the laundry room and makes the mud room much more usable for guides and guests preparing to depart for the day’s hunt.
2025 Bookings
With the opportunities to fish, shoot, or hunt with us selling out early this year, we are taking reservations for 2025 early this year.
We are now taking reservations for flyfishing or clay shooting days from June 1 to the end of August. Book early if you want to bring a group of four to eight and stay with us while fishing or shooting.
If you are booked to fish, shoot, or hunt with us this year, you can rebook for the same dates next year at this year’s prices by the end of your stay. You can book any other available dates at this year’s prices by the end of December.
If you would like to be added to our waiting list for 2025, let us know, and we will tell you what dates are available as they become available, usually at the end of each group’s 2024 visit if they do not rebook.
I have said it before: Book early. That gets you the dates you want and helps us plan for staff and bird supply.
Stay safe, stay healthy, stay shooting.
