Highly Successful Elk Hunt
Our game cameras told us the breeding herds had arrived on the ranch.
Other game cameras told us the satellite bulls were standing by.
Our own very cautious scouting early and late the days before Opening Day revealed the elk were where we thought they should be.
Careful planning and preparation, low hunting pressure, and the great natural elk habitat on the ranch paid off.
Jamie connected with a trophy bull on opening day. 7x 6. 355 Boone and Crockett points. One to be proud of as we are of him. This is not a Range Rover ad and yes, that is the Lodge in the background.
The remaining tags were filled the following day. Day 3 had more elk on the ranch than we have ever seen before and no one hunting which is how we (and the elk) like it.
Upland Bird Walkup Hunts
With great numbers of upland birds on the ranch, walkup bird hunting will present hunters with plenty of shooting opportunities in the late fall. We are fully booked for upland bird walkup hunts and Lodge stays until November 2 but have a limited number of open days through the end of November, weather permitting.
Arrive at 9 am for a welcome and safety briefing on the deck with coffee and pastries, warm up with clays, followed by walkup hunting with a guide and well-trained dog for every two hunters. We supply loaner shotguns if needed, guides and dogs, shells, snacks, lunch for four or more, and birds vacuum packed for your departure. $690 per gun. No bird limits.

2022 Bookings
We continue to take bookings for our 2022 season. We have confirmed bookings for two groups for three and four-day weekends (September 28 to October 2, and October 7 to 10, 2022). Two more groups have confirmed they are booking but have yet to get their groups to agree on dates. A fifth group is trying to get organized. We are planning for nine weekends in total. If you would like to bring a group to Lazy Triple Creek Ranch or shoot European Style Driven Shooting with Western Sensibilities in 2022, please book early. A 30% deposit will hold your desired dates.
We are planning a driven-only day on Saturday, September 3, 2022. Eight pegs are open. Let us know if you would like to shoot on upland bird opening day. These will sell out early.
We will run Shotgun Saturdays again in 2022 on the first and third Saturday of every month from June through August 2022 for up to 12. Space should be available up until two weeks before the day. Booking early will ensure the dates you want.
Covid-19
The risks while outdoors for the vaccinated are low, but we are maintaining our risk reduction protocols, staying outdoors as much as possible, and maintaining physical separation indoors. All staff members are fully vaccinated. If you are feeling unwell, please stay home. We are as serious about your health and safety as we are about firearms and safety. Anyone not vaccinated should get vaccinated, maintain physical separation from others, stay outdoors as much as possible, and wear a mask while indoors.
The Lodge is open for your use during the day and for overnight stays for groups of four to eight. The Lodge is a magical place at night. Last but not least, our new private chef is outstanding. Even better, Graham is returning next year.
