Giving Thanks
In the spirit of the holidays, we thank our clients and staff who make Lazy Triple Creek Ranch a special place and made our 2024 season most successful for our clients and us.
We have learned a few things during three seasons of transitioning from a private, family shooting estate to being open to outside groups in a limited, exclusive way.
The first is that we can count on the professionalism and dedication of our staff and guides to deliver amazing experiences for our guests safely. Being a guest in the West is a very special status. We have always believed that “Organizations don’t do things. People do.” That’s true of large and small organizations. Thank you guys, gals, and dogs.
We also learned that most guests choose us based on other people’s recommendations. You can help us here. Please share your experiences.

Thank you for doing so. We will find a way to thank you during your next visit.
2025 Season
Judging from our advance bookings, Lazy Triple Creek Ranch has become well-recognized for world-class wing shooting and trophy elk hunting. What may be less well recognized is that Lazy Triple Creek Ranch is at the almost exact center of the very best, world-class fly fishing in the American West and that we have one of the very best and the most scenic clay courses anywhere.
Anglers come from all over the US and the world to fish these famous, pristine waters.
Contact us, and we, along with our fishing outfitter partners, will tailor your fishing experience to local conditions during your visit and your personal preferences, whether you are a lifelong angler or new to the sport.
We are accepting fly-fishing bookings from May 1 to the end of August. For a traditional “Cast and Blast,” add a day or two on our clays courses. You will be back for more.
The clay courses, trap, skeet, five stand, grouse butt, crazy quail, and what many have described as the world’s best 14-station sporting clays course, open June 1. End the day with our signature clay experience, a simulated driven shoot with clays high overhead.
If you want specific dates or want to come with a group, book early. Otherwise, if your dates are flexible, we should have availability for clays shooting from June 1 to the end of August.
Upland bird hunting, walkup, and our signature event, European Style Driven Shooting with Western Sensibilities, sold out in 2024, and we expect will be sold out again in 2025.
Over 90% of those who shoot with us rebook for the following year. That, and our desire to keep Lazy Triple Creek Ranch private and exclusive, leaves us with very few upland bird shooting opportunities remaining for 2025.
The upland bird hunting season in Idaho opens on August 15. Our experience has been that it is too hot for the dogs and the clients before the end of August for walk-up hunts.
We are scheduling only European Style Driven Shooting with Western Sensibilities in August as follows:
August 16: Eight pegs open
August 23: Six Pegs open
Driven only, no walk-ups:
Two drives at the first location, two at a second location, a break for Elevenses, two at a third location, lunch, and two at each of two more locations after lunch, ending with cocktails and conversation on the deck at the end of the day. We ran one of these all-driven events at the end of this season for the first time, and the guns asked for more.
August 30: Five pegs open
Driven and walk-up:
Our usual format of two drives at each of two locations, a break for Elevenses, two more drives at a third location, lunch, walk-up hunts with guides and dogs after lunch, and cocktails and conversation on the deck at the end of the day.
We have rooms available in the Lodge before and after each of the driven shooting dates, August 16, 23, and 30. Add a day of fly fishing, clay shooting, or walkup hunts depending on temperatures later in August.
Surprisingly, we have open dates in early September.
If you want to shoot with us with a group, we recommend booking early for these open days. They won’t last long.
Other than a free day here and there, we are fully booked until the end of October.
We plan to keep upland bird hunting open until mid-November.
Long-range precision rifle and personal protection pistol classes will be available in August. If you are interested, contact us now.
If you want to fish, shoot, or hunt with us in 2025, let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate your group unless you want to hunt trophy elk, which is sold out for 2025.
Book before the end of December, and we accept 2024 prices for 2025 bookings.
May your holidays be merry and your New Year be happy and bright.
That’s all, folks.
Stay safe, stay healthy, stay shooting.
