This month’s newsletter is meant for those who would like to fish, shoot, or hunt with us this season but have not booked yet.
We have good availability for fly fishing and clays sports with stays in our luxury lodge from June 5 to mid-August.
Upland bird hunting is close to sold out and elk hunts are sold out.

Fly-Fishing and Clays
Anglers come from all over the US and the world to fish these famous, pristine waters. Contact us, and we, along with our fishing outfitter partners, will tailor your fishing experience to local conditions during your visit and your personal preferences, whether you are a lifelong angler or new to the sport.
Our extensive clays facilities will open June 1. The first weekend is already booked, but we have good availability until the end of August on our trap, skeet, grouse butt, crazy quail, five-stand, and what many believe is the world’s best 14-station sporting clays course. Combine a few days of shooting with a few days fishing the iconic fly-fishing rivers of Eastern Idaho for a Cast and Blast.
Upland Bird Hunting
Upland bird hunting, with guides and well-trained dogs, walkup, and our signature event, European Style Driven Shooting with Western Sensibilities, sold out in 2024, and are close to sold out already again in 2025. Over 90% of those who shoot with us rebook for the following year. That, and our desire to keep Lazy Triple Creek Ranch private and exclusive, leaves us with very few upland bird shooting opportunities remaining for 2025.
The upland bird hunting season in Idaho opens on August 15. Our experience has been that it is too hot for the dogs and the clients before the end of August for walk-up hunts.
We are scheduling only European Style Driven Shooting with Western Sensibilities in August, no walk-ups until late August, as follows:
August 16: Eight pegs open
Driven only, no walk-ups:
Two drives at the first location, two at a second location, a break for Elevenses, two drives at a third location, lunch, and two more drives at each of two more locations after lunch, ending with cocktails and conversation on the deck at the end of the day. We ran one of these all-driven events at the end of this season for the first time, and the guns asked for more. More shooting. Less walking. No bird limits ever at Lazy Triple Creek Ranch.
August 23: Sold Out

Driven and walk-up:
Our usual format of two drives at each of two locations, a break for Elevenses, two more drives at a third location, lunch, walk-up hunts with guides and dogs after lunch, and cocktails and conversation on the deck at the end of the day.
We have rooms available in the Lodge for groups of six to eight from August 16 to 18. Add a day or two of fly fishing or clays shooting.
August 19 to 21 and August 26 to 27 are available. Depending on temperatures, we might open walk-up hunting for August 19.
Surprisingly, we have open dates from September 7 to 15, some of the premier dates of the year. Those dates will not last long. If you want to shoot with us with a group, we recommend booking early for these open days. Three groups are trying to get organized for these dates.
Other than a free day here and there, we are fully booked until the end of October.
We have availability for European Style Driven Shoots with Western Sensibilities after October 30. Driven only. The elk will have destroyed our cover crops by then.
We plan to keep upland bird hunting open until mid-November.
Rifle and Pistol Classes
Long-range precision rifle and personal protection pistol classes will be available in August. If you are interested, contact us now.
And finally...
Here are the reasons to book now if you want to fish, shoot, or hunt with us this season:
• While availability for lodge stays, fishing, and the clays sports are good now from June 5 to mid-August, these dates will fill up quickly and our fishing outfitters will run out of guides, boats, and permissions for the best rivers.
• We cleaned out our inbox recently and saw that most booking requests for 2024 came in April and May.
• Shooting Sportsman will be running ranch ads and a direct mail campaign in April and May. We are a Shooting Sportsman Endorsed Lodge.
• Over 80% of the days available for upland bird hunting were already booked by the end of March. Over 90% of those who fish, shoot, or hunt with us each year rebook for the next season.
So don’t delay. Book Now!
