Join Us for Our 20th Anniversary Year
We’re hitting a big milestone this year. 2026 marks our 20th Anniversary at Lazy Triple Creek Ranch, and we’d love for you to celebrate it with us.
We are booking up quickly, and the remaining 2026 reservations are now open to everyone. If you want to fish, shoot, or hunt with us this year, book now while we still have openings. Availability is discussed in detail below.
If you are interested in long-range shooting out to one mile or in improving your hunting skills, we have the course for you. George Harris, 39 years in the Army, including serving as a shooter and coach for the Army’s rifle and pistol teams, and co-founder of Sig Sauer Academy, will be with us on August 22. We can accept up to eight in this class. We have two already. Let us know soon if you are interested. This is a not-to-be-missed opportunity.
Read to the end and see how Lazy Triple Creek Ranch owner, Hank, caught the same fish twice, and for an example of redneck engineering in New Zealand, locally called Kiwi engineering.
Finally, learn about a unique opportunity to fish for Atlantic salmon at one of the most famous private salmon clubs on the Miramichi in New Brunswick, Canada, and hear our views on hearing protection.
2026 Bookings are Now Open to All
Reservations are now officially open to the public, and our 2026 season is booking up fast.
Don’t delay any further – reserve your preferred dates and experiences now for the upcoming season at our private, exclusive 2,200-acre Idaho sporting estate.
Here is how the 2026 season is shaping up:
Our fishing season kicks off on May 15, perfect timing for excellent spring trout action as large brown trout awaken and — weather permitting — the famous salmonfly hatch begins.
Whether you seek blue-ribbon rivers or scenic creeks, our location offers unforgettable fly-fishing opportunities on the Teton River, Henry’s Fork, South Fork of the Snake, and other legendary Eastern Idaho waters.
Availability is good from May 1 to the end of August. After June 1, add a day or two on our clays courses for a Cast and Blast. No one does it better.
Pro Tip: Book early to secure the best guides on these iconic fisheries.
Our renowned clays program returns June 1 — weather permitting — with extensive facilities:

Frequently rated among the best in the world for beauty and challenge
Clays and shooting availability remains good early in the season, but prime dates go fast.
Our European-Style Driven Shooting with Western Sensibilities opens August 15, and is designed specifically for the driven-shooting enthusiast who appreciates a disciplined, authentic experience.

Caught Twice & "Kiwi Engineering"
The Persistent Trout:
Hank recently caught a nice rainbow on a nymph in New Zealand. We follow a strict rule: a fish stays out of the water no longer than you can hold your breath. This fish didn’t want to play by the rules — it actually jumped back into the net. A rare “double catch” for the books!
The View from New Zealand:
While shooting in Greymouth with World Champion Mark Vessey, Hank and Joanna encountered some “Kiwi Engineering.” When you aren’t blessed with the topography of Lazy Triple Creek, you have to build your own heights!
Atlantic Salmon Fishing Opportunity
In the Atlantic salmon fishing world, the Miramichi River in New Brunswick, Canada is legendary. And on that river, the private salmon fishing club Sutter’s is equally famous.
The Club is private, and opportunities to fish there are usually available only to owners and their guests. The owners of Lazy Triple Creek are also owners of Sutter’s. Their week, June 27 to July 4, is available this year. The Spring run of fish brings in fish fresh from the North Atlantic. Be ready for the fight of your life and memories that will last a lifetime.
This is an opportunity not to be missed if you want to experience the very best fishing in the world for Atlantic salmon. I hear the grouse hunting is also excellent that time of year. Contact us if you are interested.
A Word on Hearing Protection
We provide foam plugs and electronic muffs, but let’s be honest: plugs block out all sound, and muffs can be uncomfortable and can interfere with the all-important shotgun mount.
The gold standard is custom-fit, in-ear protection. We’ve found ESP Hearing to be the best. They amplify the sounds you want to hear — a guide’s instruction or the flush of a bird — while instantly blocking the sounds of gunshots.
Check them out at espamerica.com and tell them we sent you.
Stay safe, stay healthy, stay shooting.
