Outdoor Adventure Awaits
The focus of this July issue of Ranch News is again on availability for those who want to fish, shoot, or hunt with us this season.
We have excellent availability for fly-fishing and clay sports with stays in our luxury lodge from now through mid-August. While elk hunts are entirely sold out, there are still openings for upland bird hunting, but you will need to book soon. Continue reading for more details.
Please read to the end to learn about a rare opportunity to experience fly-fishing for Atlantic salmon on the Miramichi in New Brunswick, Canada, while staying in an iconic private club’s luxury lodge, to be introduced to one of our fly-fishing outfitter partners, and to be asked for your feedback on a new payment system we hope to be implementing very soon.
World-Class Fly-Fishing
Fishing is great. Water levels are good, and the hatches have been enormous.
Anglers come from all over the US and the world to fish these famous, pristine waters. Contact us, and we, along with our fishing outfitter partners, will tailor your fishing experience to local conditions during your visit, taking into account your personal preferences, whether you are a lifelong angler or new to the sport.
We have good availability in our lodge for groups fishing or enjoying our world-class clay facilities now through August 15, but the fishing outfitters are selling out rapidly. If you want to fish with the very best outfitters and guides on the best rivers for the time of year, book early.
Clay Shooting at the Ranch
Our summer clay season is underway!
We love to see families shooting together…. We encourage as many ladies as possible to participate in shooting. Here we have mother and daughter, Louise and Helen, on our world-class clays course.
Damned Rabbit!
Mother’s Turn.
Premier Upland Bird Hunting
We have limited availability for European-Style Driven Shoots with Western Sensibilities. Don’t delay in booking the remaining available dates!
August 16:
Three open pegs. All-day driven. Lodge available August 14 to 18.
August 22:
Three open pegs. All-day driven. Lodge available August 21- 22.
August 30:
One open peg. Driven plus walk-up. Lodge available August 28 to 31.
August 25 to 27 are open. Please let us know if you are interested in walk-up hunting with guides and dogs, with a minimum of two, or if you would like to come with a group of six to eight for European-Style Driven Shooting with Western Sensibilities on those dates. The Lodge is available August 25 to 28.
We have room for two more for walk-up hunting on September 8 to 10, with accommodations available in the lodge.
We have open dates from September 12 to 16, and the lodge is available on each of those nights. This is the prime season, which will not last long. We will give preference to groups of six to eight who are shooting driven.
We also have an open date on September 24, with the lodge available that night.
We are otherwise sold out for European-Style Driven Shooting with Western Sensibilities until November.
We are working on dates for November shoots. Please let us know if you are interested, and we will find dates that work for most of you.
Our traditional format for driven shooting involves two drives at each of two locations, a break for elevenses, two more drives at a third location, lunch, and then walk-up hunting with guides and dogs after lunch. The day ends with cocktails and conversation on the deck.
Starting this season, we are also offering all-driven days, with two drives at each of two additional locations in place of walk-up hunts after lunch.
This was a great success when we did this on a trial basis last year. Ten drives at five different locations. We know of no other estate anywhere in the world offering this volume of pheasant shooting. There is more shooting, less walking, and prices significantly below what others charge for less shooting. Our guns love it.
No bird limits, no extra charges for loaner shotguns or ammunition, birds breasted and vacuum-packed for your departure. No extras except for 6% Idaho sales tax and gratuities for the staff.
Book early! The remaining days will not last long.
Rifle and Pistol Classes are Back!
Long-range precision rifle and personal protection pistol classes will be available in August. If you’re interested, please contact us now.
Exclusive Opportunity: Sutter Salmon Club
In last month’s Ranch News we introduced the opportunity to fish for Atlantic salmon on the Miramichi River in New Brunswick, Canada. Two of eight spots are sold. There is still time to take advantage of this rare opportunity to spend one week fishing the iconic Miramichi at Sutter’s, the equally famous, private salmon fishing club.
Opportunities to fish on Sutter’s private water are usually available only to owners and their guests. The owners of Lazy Triple Creek are also owners, with ten others, of Sutter’s. Their week, October 4 to 11, is available this year.
This is an opportunity not to be missed if you want to experience the very best fishing in the world for Atlantic salmon. I hear the grouse hunting is also excellent that time of year. Contact us if you are interested.
