Our 2025 Season
In this month’s Ranch News we focus on the outlook for fly-fishing this season on the South Fork of the Snake, Henry’s Fork, Teton, Madison, and other iconic trout fisheries all within one hour of our location and availability for upland bird hunting this fall season.
We have good availability for fly-fishing and clays sports with stays in our luxury lodge from June 5 to mid-August.
Upland bird hunting is close to sold out and elk hunts are sold out.
Fly-Fishing and Clays
Early spring fishing and water levels in the rivers and reservoirs tell us this year’s fishing should be fantastic.
Anglers come from all over the US and the world to fish these famous, pristine waters. Contact us, and we, along with our fishing outfitter partners, will tailor your fishing experience to local conditions during your visit and your personal preferences, whether you are a lifelong angler or new to the sport.
In early April, water flows for the Henry’s Fork and Teton rivers were at 98% and Palisades, which feeds the South Fork, was at 108%. The reservoirs are close to full, which means plenty of cool, clear water for aggressively feeding fish.
We have good availability in our lodge for groups fishing or enjoying our world-class clays facilities from June 5 to August 15, but the fishing outfitters are rapidly selling out. If you want to fish with the very best outfitters and guides on the best rivers for the time of year, we will be better able to deliver great fishing experiences if you book early.
Our extensive clays facilities will open June 1. The first weekend is booked, but we have good availability until mid-August on our trap, skeet, grouse butt, crazy quail, five-stand, and what many believe is the world’s best 14-station sporting clays course. Combine a few days of shooting with a few days fishing the iconic fly-fishing rivers of Eastern Idaho for a Cast and Blast.
Upland Bird Hunting
Readers of these Newsletters know that opportunities to hunt upland birds with us sell out each year. 2025 is no different. Open pegs for our signature event, European Style Driven Shooting with Western Sensibilities are as follows:
August 16:
Four open pegs. All-day driven. Lodge available August 14 to 18.
August 22:
Five open pegs. All-day driven. Lodge available August 21, 22.
August 30:
Three open pegs. Driven plus walk-up. Lodge available August 28 to 31.
August 18, 19, and 25 to 27 are open. We are holding these dates for groups of six to eight, but no commitments have been received yet.
We have room for two more for walk-up hunting September 8 to 10, with room in the lodge.
We have open dates from September 12 to 16, and the lodge is available each of those nights. This is prime season, which will not last long. We will give preference to groups of six to eight who are shooting driven.
We also have an open date on September 24, with the lodge available that night.
We are otherwise sold out for European Style Driven Shooting with Western Sensibilities until after October 30, when we will offer all driven days until mid-November.
Our traditional format for driven shooting involves two drives at each of two locations, a break for elevenses, two more drives at a third location, lunch, and then walk-up hunting with guides and dogs after lunch. The day ends with cocktails and conversation on the deck.
In response to requests from our regulars, we tried an all-driven day last year, with two drives at each of two additional locations in place of walk-up hunts after lunch. This was a great success, and we are repeating that format this year: Ten drives at five different locations. We know of no other estate anywhere in the world offering this volume of pheasant shooting. There is more shooting, less walking, and prices significantly below what others charge for less shooting. Our guns love it.
All-Day Driven is arrive by 9:30, coffee, juices, pastries, yogurts, safety briefing and gun fitting for those not shooting their guns, two drives at each of two locations, break for elevenses, two more drives at a third location, lunch, two drives at each of two new locations after lunch, ending with cocktails and conversation on the deck at the end of the day. The cost is $4,500 per peg, which is all-inclusive.
Driven Plus Walk-Up is the same format but with walk-up hunting with guides and well-trained dogs instead of more driven shooting after lunch for $3,900 per peg.
No bird limits, no extra charges for loaner shotguns or ammunition, birds breasted and vacuum-packed for your departure. No extras except for 6% Idaho sales tax and gratuities for the staff.
To meet demand and to improve the quality of our shoots, we will add three and possibly four new driven shooting locations this year. We already have seven driven shooting locations, each with eight pegs. More options for shooting locations make for better shooting experiences, particularly all within less than five minutes of each other by Rangers. There is no need to spend much of your shooting time driving from location to location at Lazy Triple Creek Ranch.
Our guests tell us we are already different from other places they shoot at globally. Compliments range from being a no-BS operation (our favorite), to doing much less driving between locations, not waiting around for birds to arrive, and having more opportunities to shoot because we offer more drives than other estates (some offering as few as six drives during a full day versus our ten). We have no bad pegs offering no shooting opportunities. And our prices are lower than those of comparable shooting estates, even those offering far less shooting.
Book early! The remaining days will not last long.
Rifle and Pistol Classes
Long-range precision rifle and personal protection pistol classes will be available in August. If you are interested, contact us now.
If you want to fish, shoot, or hunt with us in 2025, let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate your group unless you want to hunt trophy elk, which is sold out for 2025.
Don’t delay. Book Now!
That’s all, folks.
Stay safe, stay healthy, stay shooting.
