Our 2025 Season
The Aspen trees have turned yellow and gold. Steve is complaining about elk in our walkup crops. Our 2025 season is coming to an end.
Several records were set this year. We were sold out close to every day during upland bird season.
Several groups ended driven shooting days with a bird bag of over 400. One group was over 500. We know of no game estate anywhere in the world offering this volume of pheasant shooting—more shooting, less waiting, less driving from location to location, less walking. And the best compliment we have ever received, from someone who shoots all over the world, “Change nothing. You are a no BS operation.”
With driven shoots every few days, the walkup fields have been loaded with birds. Walkup hunting has never been better. Dogs, guides, and guests experienced fantastic shooting.
Here’s the best summary of this season: (See the smiles)
Book Now for the Season’s Final Driven Shoots
We are sold out until the end of the season except for open pegs on November 1 and 8.
Two drives at each of two locations, Elevenses, two drives at a third location, lunch, two drives at each of two additional locations after lunch, ending with cocktails and conversation in front of the fire at the end of the day.
We need six to eight to run this Driven Shoot and we are not there yet.
Don’t miss the last chance in 2025 to experience European Style Driven Shooting with Western Sensibilities.
2026 Bookings are Open
We plan to open early in 2026, on May 1 for spring fishing. We plan to open our world-class clays course on June 1, weather permitting.
Come and do both. Stay in our luxury lodge and enjoy fly-fishing the iconic trout rivers of Eastern Idaho with the area’s best guides for Cast and Blast.
Here is the reservation process for 2026:
1: We are taking 2026 reservations now for any dates that were open in 2025. These are mainly from May 1 to August 15.
Stay in our luxury lodge and the best guides in the area will take you for a day of fishing the iconic, blue-ribbon waters of Eastern Idaho. From June 1 add a day or two on our trap, skeet, crazy quail, grouse butt, five stand, and what many call the world’s best 14-station sporting clays course, all designed by Edward Watson, the Executive Director of the West London Shooting School. More on Edward later.
2: We will be taking 2026 reservations from groups of eight shooting with us this year for European Style Driven Shooting at the end of their 2025 hunt. We are already close to 50% booked for upland bird hunting in 2026.
3: Starting at the end of October, we will begin taking reservations for the 2026 elk hunt. Preference will go to those hunting with us this year and other existing clients.
4: On November 1, we will begin taking reservations for all 2026 dates still available.
If you are not shooting with your own group of eight, let us know. We are keeping a list of those who want to shoot with us in 2026, and will offer remaining openings to those who have expressed interest, hopefully by early next year.
That’s the best we can do to allocate availability when over 90% of those who shoot or hunt with us rebook for the following year and demand exceeds what we can offer. It’s either this or we add capacity which we are unwilling to do to preserve the private, exclusive nature of a very special place.
As with most things we do, except firearms safety, exceptions will be considered. Call with any special requests for 2026.
Booking now gets you the 2026 dates you want… and at 2025 prices.
A Special Tribute
Steve Sorensen celebrated his 20th year at Lazy Triple Creek Ranch last month. Steve would be the first to say it takes a team to create one of the world’s great shooting estates, but organizations don’t do things, people do, and Steve has been the rock on which Lazy Triple Creek Ranch was built.
The original partners closed the purchase at 4 pm on September 20, 2005. Steve reported for work at 4:30 pm. Upland bird shooting began the following year which makes 2026 our 20th year.
The original partners did two things right. They hired Steve and recruited Edward Watson, Executive Director of the West London Shooting School and UK game estate manager. Edward’s goal was to create a hunting and shooting estate in America which could compete with the very best Europe had to offer. By all accounts he and Steve succeeded. Thank you, Edward. Thank you, Steve.
That’s all, folks.
Stay safe, stay healthy, stay shooting.
